Adam Lenart is an international concert organist. He passed his concert examination with distinction and made his debut in Denmark. As a laureate of international organ competitions, he has excelled as a virtuoso and sophisticated interpreter. He is interested in a broad spectrum of organ literature. Here, his artistic focus lies among others on the organ music of the romantic and the modern era, always with the historical performance practice in mind. In 2015, he published a CD with preludes and fugues by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy with the Detmold label Dabringhaus und Grimm.

Adam Lenart was born in Trzebnica near Wrocław in Lower Silesia in 1973. Already at an early age, he learned to play the piano and the organ, and became an organist at the Great Basilica of Saint Hedwig in Trzebnica. At the same time, he completed his studies at the Karol Szymanowski Music High School in Wrocław and took organ lessons at the Wrocław Cathedral. Afterwards, he participated in the organ class of Prof. Andrzej Chorosiński at the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław. In 1996, he obtained his Master’s Degree in Arts with distinction. He taught at the Wrocław Academy of Music as an assistant teacher and lecturer for organ and basso continuo.

Adam Lenart honed his skills as an interpreter by completing the highest course of artistic studies, the concert examination for organ. He was admitted to the soloist class of Anders Riber at the Jutland Conservatory of Music in Århus, Denmark. In 1988, he made his debut in Copenhagen (Helligåndskirken) and Århus (Vor Frue Kirke), where he performed successful concerts, among others the organ concert for organ, strings and timpani by Francis Poulenc. 

In 1999, he was awarded a DAAD fellowship and came to Germany to the organ class of Prof. Gerhard Weinberger at the Detmold Academy of Music. This was followed by studies of the highest training for church music with organ improvisation as his major with Prof. Tomasz Adam Nowak, which he completed in 2006 with the A-level examination. Alongside his studies in church music, he perfected his improvisational skills in an internship under Elmar Lehnen at the Marienbasilika Kevelaer.

Adam Lenart is a laureate of international organ competitions: he won the 1^st  price at the International Organ Competition in Trier („Hermann Schroeder Prize“, with CD production) in 2005, the „Frank Martin Prize“ at the International Organ Competition in Saint Maurice d’Agaune/ Switzerland in 2003 (best performance of the Passacaglia by Frank Martin), the 3^rd  price at the Feliks Nowowiejski International Organ Competition in Poznań/ Poland in 1994 (best performance of an organ symphony by Feliks Nowowiejski) as well as the 1^st price at the National Organ Competition in Inowrocław/ Poland in 1992.

Adam Lenart works as a church musician for the parish association Bielefeld-Ost of the archbishopric Paderborn. The Liebfrauenkirche Bielefeld as well as the St. Josephskirche Bielefeld with their three-manual large organs and their excellent acoustics are perfect for the performance of symphonic organ works and always inspire Adam Lenart to his own improvisations and compositions.
